Technologist who has spent over 30 years in various organizations from startups to large multi nationals. Was an early migrant to ARPAnet (while in grad school at Oregon State in the mid-1980s) and subsequently helped with rolling out Internet access in Singapore. Has been in the FOSS space since graduate school (and not knowing about Free Software in the first place). Launched the Singapore Linux Users’ Group in 1993, ran the Singapore Linux Conference in 1999/2000/2001 and has been a strong advocate to open source, open data, open standards in Singapore and Asia Pacific.
