Hi @shujisado-san, your timeline is precise. It was in early 2023, with the development of the EU AI Act with the exceptions for Open Source AI, when we realized that a definition for Open Source AI was much needed, and we organized the first meeting at the Mozilla headquarters in June 2023. Before that, we were exploring the topic as of early 2022. Since then, we have opened up the discussions more and more, reaching out to experts and community members. Here’s a rough timeline:
